Poultry Facilities |
Our Poultry facilities currently consist of a 400 square foot chicken barn that contains 6 indoor/ outdoor pens and about 32 breeding cages. The pens in the chicken barn are cleaned every week and the cage trays are cleaned every 3-5 days. We scrub out (with Oxine and water solution) and refill every water bowl in the chicken barn every single day. We also currently have 3, 10 x 20 foot breeding pens as well as 4, 10 x 16 foot breeding pens. We are adding on 2-3 more pens this spring to house our growing chicks. We have also just added 2 quail coops. The guys have just finished a free range waterfowl area that measures around 150 feet by 30 feet. It is the first yard that is really big enough for our large amount of waterfowl! We do not give tours of our facilities as a biosecurity precaution. We also disinfect each pen, cage and food bowl on a regular basis with an Oxine and water solution. |
